No joke. The Awl, in 2009, has become my favorite website on the entire Internets, mostly due to long, thoughtful pieces like this. The fuck and dick jokes interspersed through the day are merely a nice bonus. My only regret is this website didn’t exist when I was toiling away at a full-time job.

In honor of the annual festival of baseball that are the (mostly boring) Winter Meetings, here is a story I did last year for ESPN The Magazine where I sat on a toilet seat for about 8 hours trying to come up with a viable baseball trade rumor.
